Sedation Dentistry Eugene OR

Your Comfort

Feel Calm and Relaxed in Our Dental Chair

Though Dr. Butler is skilled at providing painless injections to his patients, he knows there are still some patients who become very anxious just at the thought of a visit to a dental office. We can help you forget your fears with oral conscious sedation. By simply taking one pill one hour before your visit, you become very relaxed to the point of being unaware of the work being performed. However, you retain a level of consciousness that lets you answer questions and interact with the dental team. This solution is ideal for those with anxiety, but is also a great option for busy patients who prefer to have more work done in one visit rather than spread out over multiple visits.

"Laughing Gas" Sedation

We also offer another kind of relaxation method. Nitrous oxide, commonly known as "laughing gas," will let you relax by simply inhaling the medication through a mask. Local anesthetic is often combined with nitrous oxide to eliminate pain in most cases.

As we all grapple with the rapidly changing events surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic, we at Butler Family Dental have been faced with some difficult decisions.

Our desire to keep our amazing team at work and to help our awesome patients maintain their oral health is now outweighed by the potential consequences of exposing anyone unnecessarily to this incredibly contagious virus.

With that in mind, we will be closed, effective immediately, except for emergencies until at least March 31.

This afternoon (3/16/2020,) we received further guidance from the American Dental Association that recommended we see emergency patients only for the next 3 weeks.

We hope to do our part in flattening the curve and prevent our healthcare facilities and those who work so hard to take care of the sick from becoming overwhelmed.

If you have questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to call and leave a message at (541) 485-6645 or email us at We will be in touch soon. Stay healthy.
